Fireside and facilitated Conversation

Beyond Resilience

From Enduring to Leading

A signature fireside and facilitated conversation inspired by the extraordinary journey of disability advocacy pioneer Sherena Loh.

In a world of increasing complexity, where artificial intelligence is reshaping work, organisations need more than technical expertise. They need leaders who respond with purpose, resilience, courage and care. This experience creates space for participants to rediscover these distinctly human qualities within themselves and one another.

Meet Sherena Loh

Advocate. Author. Founder.

Diagnosed with muscular dystrophy as a child and told she was unlikely to live beyond the age of 25, Sherena chose not to let her circumstances define her future.

She became one of Singapore’s pioneering disability advocates, founded a charity supporting people with muscular dystrophy, received the UBS Achievement Award for her advocacy and authored Shaped for a Purpose.

But this experience is ultimately not about Sherena. It is about what her journey invites us to discover within ourselves.

Questions We Explore

What does this experience open?

01
How do we respond when the ground beneath us shifts?
02
What strengths have we yet to recognise in ourselves?
03
How can a higher purpose unlock our deeper potential to grow and serve?
04
What kind of leadership does today’s world invite from each of us?

More than an inspirational talk

Designed to create something deeper.

Many speaker sessions leave people saying, “That was inspiring.” Then life returns to normal.

This experience is designed to create something deeper. Through storytelling, facilitated reflection and small-group conversations, participants connect Sherena’s journey with their own leadership, work and lives. They don’t simply listen — they reflect, discuss and discover together, creating space for insight, connection and practical application.

We’ve seen employees who have never had meaningful contact with a person who is differently abled leave with a genuinely changed perspective — not because they were told what to think, but because they encountered a human being whose life opened something within them.

Why Organisations Bring This Experience In

Six dimensions of impact.

Leadership Development
Exploring what it means to lead with courage, purpose and resilience, regardless of title or circumstance.
Employee Resilience and Wellbeing
Helping people reconnect to meaning, purpose and the human capacity to grow through difficulty.
Emotional and Relational Intelligence
Enabling people to experience self-awareness, empathy and the ability to connect meaningfully with colleagues.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Supporting a social impact business while offering employees an experience that broadens perspectives and strengthens their desire to contribute positively within and beyond the workplace.
Purpose and Values
Grounding organisational values in lived human experience rather than slides and slogans.
Diversity and Inclusion
Building empathy and understanding through genuine human connection and perspective-taking rather than compliance alone.

“…emerging evidence suggests that a perspective-taking approach, which promises to raise awareness and empathy, has the potential to create buy-in for D&I strategy. Employers may do well to focus L&D interventions on perspective-taking rather than on unconscious bias.”
