A Different Kind of Card Exchange

At an event I attended in London, I got talking to the person who sat with me during lunch. I admired her for her involvement in social justice. At the end of our conversation, I gave her a pop-up card. I never know what quote I am giving people as it is sealed until the person pops it open (like a fortune cookie). I always hope it speaks to the recipient.

This lady gave me something that she regularly distributes too –  this inspiring card which reads ”practise random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty”. This was one of the most precious souvenirs I brought back.

We didn’t exchange name-cards – only these cards. So I don’t remember her name but what has stayed with me is our connection around social justice and the intention of wanting to leave something of goodness and beauty with each other.
