GROW GOODNESS
Nurturing the People in Nonprofits for Greater Impact

For those in THE FIELD OF GIVING
The suffering in our world is immense.
And the ability to make a difference in a thoughtful way is also immense.
Do you want a more meaningful way to support nonprofits for deeper, more sustainable impact?
Do you want to play a more visionary role and be part of changing paradigms?
Do you want to support the wise and just flow of financial resources?
Nonprofits working for a better world face many challenges:
- Issues they work on may be tremendously complex
- Staff may be emotionally affected when exposed regularly to others’ pain, or lack of compassion or justice
- Staff may have high workloads with severe resource constraints
- There may be issues of high turnover
- When faced with so many challenges, it may be hard to come up with much needed fresh, deeper, innovative solutions
(Please see our research report, “Flourishing for All” where we interviewed senior leaders in farmed animal protection on burnout and stress. Those from other social/environmental impact communities have also found this report useful.)
And yet…
- They may not get enough support for the growth and wellbeing of their leaders and staff. Some donors may want their funds to go only or mainly to the mission and beneficiaries directly.
- Nonprofit leaders may struggle with prioritising this over pressing matters, especially with a limited budget.
- Staff may be encouraged to practise self-care strategies when the roots of their struggles may be born out of leadership struggles, organisational culture or the wider eco-system they are embedded in.
There is significant research showing that investing in people’s growth, wellbeing, relationships and work culture has an impact on the work. Corporations with huge budgets know this and invest alot in this direction. Yet many non-profits may not have equal access to such services.

We want to disrupt this pattern with you.
We all hold different pieces of the puzzle and could come together to create something new.
We believe one of the ways to make the deepest social impact is to strengthen the inner capacity of nonprofits through the people in them.
We also believe that people working in nonprofits are worthy of investments in their growth and wellbeing and that this itself is part of creating social impact.
Create positive ripples…
The kind of approaches we use can ripple out to touch the many lives non-profits touch.
Thirty healthcare organisations which used positive leadership saw double-digit improvement in climate, manager support, participation, patient satisfaction, physician/nurse relations, quality of care, resource adequacy and willing to recommend. (Cameron, Mora, Leutscher, and Calarco, 2011)
Significant correlation between servant leadership style and employee retention and the most influencing factors were trustworthiness, service, kindness and humility. (Veiseh and Veisi in Indian Journal of Fundamental and Applied Life Sciences 2014 Vol. 4 (S4), pp. 3886-3893).

OUR Customised PROGRAMME
At its most foundational level, this would take the form of one-to-one work with the leader of the organisation.
For other kinds of engagement, we would collect relevant data, and design accordingly.
We work on a range of issues including service-centred leadership development, employee happiness and wellbeing, team relationships and communication, strengths-based working, and creating a positive, caring, psychologically safe work culture where people are growing to become better versions of themselves.
An organisation need not be in an unhealthy state to benefit from our work. We can move good to great and great to greater.
Which non-profits do we seek to work with?
The CEO/Executive director will be directly involved in this initiative.
- They are open, humble and receptive to self-development to deepen their service-centred leadership; and believe that how the work is done and who they and their staff become through the work is just as important as the work.
- We support peaceful, compassionate, wise means of working that support collective wellbeing and not only the wellbeing of beneficiaries or advancement of a cause.
- They also need to have the mental space and time to commit to this journey and implement what they find useful.
- We work virtually so leaders can be based elsewhere. We work mainly during Singapore office hours and some nights as well.
Your funds will go towards the non-profit directly.
WHY US?

Testimonials
“I’ve seen the transformative impact of Vadivu’s one-on-one leadership training for animal advocates. She’s an incredible mentor who genuinely cares about the well-being of change-makers, blending compassion with a focus on impact and evidence.”
Sally Tsai, Affinity Impact (philanthropic arm of a family office)
“My education and experience can drive our mission, but we've recognized a significant gap—meaningfully caring for the team to strengthen and sustain our work. With limited funds and time, I used to focus only on the outcome for our beneficiaries...
Leadership workload and rushing deadlines can often make us short-sighted to the delicate inner workings of us, humans. While numerous leadership tips address bravely fighting fires, I rarely came across any encouragement to commit time and mental space to create a firesafe space.
Vadivu’s leadership coaching has set in motion a dynamic harmony within me, not only to grow as a person, but foster better communication, listening, and decision-making with care and confidence…to contribute to a stronger and sustainable animal protection movement."

Anbarasi Boopal, co-CEO of an animal protection group. The non-profit went through a journey spanning a year, with blended consulting, coaching and workshop support from us. This has been made possible because of visionary philanthropists, Sally and Wayne.
“Vadivu’s empathetic approach and ability to inspire a person - to think creatively and clearly - is a gift...
As the CEO for a non-profit, I often feel isolated, with no-one I can truly trust to share the challenges that I face daily. I found it difficult to enable my personal development when dealing with issues - both at work and in my personal life.
But, working with Vadivu has always managed to inspire me and give me the strength to crystallise my thoughts."
Pei Feng Su, CEO, ACTAsia, a multi award-winning international humane education charity
With her kind acceptance, listening skills and gentle encouragement, it is no wonder that Vadivu can bring out the best in the people she is conversing with."
Elysa Chen, Executive Director, CampusImpact, which does character building for youth
“Being in the social sector, majority of my time is spent on external acts of service and rarely do I spend time focusing on my inner self…. When I took up different leadership roles, I started to unconsciously follow the paths laid out for me, even though it went against my own values, so that I ‘functioned well’ as a leader. Evidently that resulted in me losing my sense of self and developing negative habits that had detrimental effects, even on my health.
Vadivu helped me realise that much of my negativities were closely knitted to deep-seated issues that I had repressed for long…my inner self led me to connect dots that desperately wanted to connect and this led to a lot of healing internally."
Lionel Dorai, Partnerships Associate Director
"Vadivu has helped me re-frame the way I was thinking about challenges as future possibilities. It is an exciting and thought-provoking process."
Regional Manager of an International Charity
"Vadivu has great energy and this positively influences people she works with."
Staff, Save the Children Asia Regional Office
IMPORTANT - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How will we know which non-profit to support?
You can suggest a non-profit leader you are directly connected to and the person and we will sense the fit with each other.
We trust that finding well-matched clients is important for the initiative to be successful and flow smoothly.
What is the cost?
It depends on what is needed.
12 one-to-one sessions (with third party tools such as 360) with the leader would cost slightly less than SGD8000. (This excludes therapeutic work by external parties which may be needed and if the client is open.)
Our work is bespoke, focused, deep and we are aiming for long-term impact.
Who can support this work?
Family offices, philanthropic foundations, corporate philanthropic arms and others interested in thoughtful philanthropy for deep, sustainable impact are examples of those we can work with.
We will find greater resonance with organisations/individuals who
- while having accountability mechanisms in place, work with freedom and trust.
- seek a meaningful relationship with all parties that has openness, respect, equality, and potential for learning and growth for all.
- already have access to non-profit leaders who may be a good match.
- appreciate that humans are complex and that change may not be immediate, quantifiable, linear or show direct causation to impact on beneficiaries. There is patience and trust that we all do our best, and grow in the process. And an appreciation of qualitative data (as much as client is comfortable to share) to illustrate changes.
How long will such support be provided? Shouldn't the non-profit co-fund?
The duration depends on the need. Some projects may take up to a year or more. Some may need something shorter.
We do welcome non-profits to co-fund to own their commitment to the work.
If they don’t need sponsorship, they are welcome to pay regular rates.
How else can we support non-profits or pro-social values?
- You can improve your own organisational practices so they result in more good and less harm to all life – human, animal, environment. That may actually prevent or reduce some of the problems non-profits are trying to heal in our world.
- If Inner Billionaire Legacy is of interest for your own personal transformation, that is another possibility. Your own growth can enable you to be of even greater service and find greater meaning and fulfilment.
- We are a purpose-driven company which was started to reduce suffering and enhance quality of life for all, including the most vulnerable. We actively promote values such as compassion. If your organisation can benefit from our other offerings, you’re welcome to book us and join our movement as clients who vote for pro-social values with their dollar.
